January 24, 2020 — SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are structures up to 1,200 square feet, on a homeowners property. ADUs are becoming popular throughout California, especially in the San Diego area.
ADUs became a centerpiece of state housing legislation last week. Several bills were signed into law expanding the ability for Californians to build such structures in their backyards. By allowing residents to build a small apartment and convert their garage, the legislative package, allows triplexes in much of the state. Read more about ADUs.
